JH Lavender & Co Ltd - Investment November 2010

This investment program includes the creation of a new die casting hall, installation of a Colosio closed loop 1600T automated diecasting cell and additional alloy melting facility. The building extension also enables the re-location of the die making function and the re-alignment of the existing gravity foundry.
On completion of this stage of the extension a further construction project commences for a new fully enclosed storage and component despatch function.

“The diecasting cell is now fully interfaced and commissioned with the Kuka robot and peripheral equipment. The transfer die is due to arrive at JH Lavender’s toolroom during this week for adaption and preparation. The Colosio engineers are returning next week for manufacturing to commence”.

“The mechanical installation and electrical interfacing commissioning stage is completed, including the Kuka 6 axis robot. The dry cycling of the cell will commence this week, with full cell integration completed by the end of the week”.

“The Colosio 1600T machine base is delivered and has been positioned into the machine pit. The Italian engineers have commenced the commissioning process for the complete closed loop diecasting cell”.

“The construction work is completed, and the opening through into the current foundry has commenced. The 10Ton twin hoist overhead crane has been delivered and will be installed and commissioned this week”.

“The roof and new building side walls are completed. The high bay preparation is underway to enable the overhead crane steelwork to commence next week. Transportation and offloading arrangements for the new 1600T machine are confirmed for the end of next week”.
